Hoang Su Phi of Ha Giang province in Northern Vietnam is a mountainous region owning fantastic rice terraces that create excellent hiking trails. Little or even unknown to most travelers in Vietnam, not to mention around the world, the area is truly a hidden gem for its pristine and picturesque landscape. On this road, you will admire the charming and attractive scenery.

DAY 1: HANOI – HOANG SU PHI – SUOI THAU VILLAGE (-/L/D)

Our vehicle and guide will welcome you and start the way to Hoang Su Phi. Lunch on the way in a small restaurant in Tan Quang town.

Upon arrival in Hoang Su Phi, start trekking to Ban Luoc commune and then Suoi Thau village while freely taking pictures on the way, passing by a long-clothed Dzao people’s commune up along the mountain back.

After a long day of trekking on fantastic hiking trails, rest, have dinner, and stay at night with the Dzao family. 

Note: Trekking about 6km (2-3 hours)

DAY 2: SUOI THAU VILLAGE – TAN PHONG TOWN (B/L/D)

Enjoy home-made breakfast, then trek to take in more of what nature offers to this region: Suoi Thau waterfall, Tea hills full of old tea trees whose leaves are to be used in making the famous Shan Tuyet tea, the notorious terraces for which Ha Giang province is famed, a big bamboo forest that grows along the trekking paths, Ban Luoc sky gate

Picnic lunch will be served on the way.

Upon arrival at Tan Phong town, visit the museum exhibiting and showcasing the traditions and customs of all ethnic groups inhabiting the region, and a tea factory, where you can get to see how the beautiful Shan Tuyet tea is arduously made.

Spend a night, enjoy dinner and stay with a Red Dzao or Nung family. There are optional cultural activities and performances to enjoy at a surcharge, such as herbal bathing, fire dance, pushing sticks, etc.

DAY 3: TAN PHONG TOWN – NAM AI VILLAGE (B/L/D)

After some morning stretches and breakfast, trek for a relatively decent through some ethnic minority groups’ villages like Nung or H’Mong peoples.

In the afternoon, check in at a local homestay and take a rest with a home-cooked dinner by Dzao families in Nam Ai village for the rest of the day.

Spend the night in a local homestay.

DAY 4: NAM AI VILLAGE – PANHOU ECOLODGE (B/L/D)

Breakfast in Nam Ai village, then take a trekking path amid and through nature and catch a glimpse of the Red Dzao people’s life in the village.

Rest at and lunch in Khoa Trung village.

You can catch see a range of beauties from natural to man-made: big bamboo forests spotted on occasion tea hills in contrast with vast terraces created by human’s strong will.

Spend the night in Hoang Su Phi at Panhou Ecolodge.

Note: Trekking ~19km

DAY 5: PANHOU ECOLODGE – HANOI (B/L/-)

Breakfast in Nam Ai village, then take a trekking path amid and through nature and catch a glimpse of the Red Dzao people’s life in the village.

Take a rest and have lunch in Khoa Trung village.

You can catch see a range of beauties from natural to man-made: big bamboo forests spotted on occasion tea hills in contrast with vast terraces created by human’s strong will.

In Hoang Su Phi, stay the final night at Panhou Ecolodge.
