DAY 1: HANOI – MA PHUC PASS – PHIA THAP – TRUNG KHANH (Lunch, Dinner)
Upon arrival, the vehicle and guide of ABI Holidays will welcome you at Hanoi (Noi Bai) Airport. Then our vehicle will take us to Cao Bang. The road takes around 5hrs thru magnificent mountains and hills with long and winding roads.
Lunch at a local restaurant on the way or in Cao Bang City.
After lunch, move from Cao Bang city to Ma Phuc Pass and start hiking uphill in the steep, idyllic valley there. We will pass through limestone mountains, rice terraces, and maize fields to reach Phia Thap village, which is surrounded by limestone pinnacles, creating spectacular scenery.
Hiking distance: About 6 km (2–2.5 hours).
This afternoon, we return to Phia Thap and visit the traditional incense-making village of the Nung An people, a place of genuine beauty. Our vehicle will leave Phia Thap for Trung Khanh, check-in at the homestay, rest after a day of trekking. Overnight in Trung Khanh.
DAY 2: TRUNG KHANH – QUAY SON – BAN GIOC – TRUNG KHANH (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast at the homestay, we will row a boat or sit on a raft to enjoy the scenery on the Quay Son River. Surfing through the emerald green waters of the river along the breathtaking vistas of the mountains and green rice terraces will be an inspiring and poetic relaxing activity.
Have lunch at the Phuong Cuu waterfall. Then we will climb the mountain close to the village to admire the panoramic view of Ban Gioc waterfall and visit Phat Tich Truc Lam Pagoda.
After visiting Ban Gioc, we will be picked up by our vehicle and back to the homestay for dinner. Overnight in Trung Khanh.
Kayaking distance: 2 km, about 2 h.
DAY 3: TRUNG KHANH – NGUOM CAVE NGAO – CAO BANG CITY – HANOI (Breakfast, Lunch)
After having breakfast at the homestay and checking out, we will visit Nguom Ngao Cave, a very famous cave that can be conquered in a whole day. We can also admire the delicately shaped stalactites in the cave (about 2-3 km deep). After that, our vehicle will take us back to Cao Bang City.
After having lunch at a local restaurant, our vehicle will take us back to Hanoi. The guide and driver will say goodbye to us at Noi Bai International Airport.
